Special Events

Holiday celebrations on Bald Head Island are legendary, with the July Fourth Golf Cart Parade leading the list.

North Carolina Treasures Weekend, hosted in June by the Old Baldy Foundation, and National Lighthouse Day Weekend in August, are can’t-miss events. Memorial Day through Labor Day, you’ll want to check out the Sunset Celebration held every Monday night in the harbor area. A live DJ, roasted marshmallows, and plenty of surprises are always part of the fun.

While summer is the most popular time to visit, savvy insiders know that Bald Head Island is at its best in the fall when the weather is picture-perfect. Holiday Celebrations in October, November and December bring the entire family together.
